Miss you already!

Three of my darling nieces are moving away to the other side of the US more specifically the magical land of Pennsylvania and I am a bit sad about it. I am trying to be grown up about it and say things like "it will be OK, I will come visit", "we can chat on the phone", "more reason to travel"... but honestly I am really sad that Philly PA can't move to where Provo is - no one really needs Provo...am I right? Think happy thoughts for me as I try and make it through their big move! Oh ya, and I will miss Jenny and Rich too! XOXO

I'm Bored!

So, working the day after Christmas is the pits and I have already looked at everything that the Internet has to offer and all I want is to be at home watching a great movie or reading a book. Is that too much to ask?

This being said - I will post a few and hopefully make up for my lacking blogger skills and eventful life! Hope you are home enjoying your own!

I love my Utes!

I am a Utah man, sir, and I live across the green.
Our gang, it is the jolliest that you have ever seen.
Our coeds are the fairest and each one's a shining star.
Our yell, you hear it ringing through the mountains near and far.
Who am I, sir? A Utah man am I A Utah man, sir, and will be till I die; Ki!Yi!
We're up to snuff; we never bluff,
We're game for any fuss,
No other gang of college men
dare meet us in the muss.
So fill your lungs and sing it out and
shout it to the sky,
We'll fight for dear old Crimson,
for a Utah man am I.

Jackson 2008!

Have you ever had a place that you feel like you are whole when you are there and that everything is balanced and without worry...? Well Jackson is one of those places for me. I went river rafting with my singles 37th ward this past weekend and I had a great time!

Tetons were breathtaking! Bears were possible but unseen!
Water was Cold, Cold, Cold! Baseball was played, Plans were Foiled,
Tires were Flattened, Mesquitos were biting, Nights were warm and chilly,
Fun was had! Friends & Signs were made! Overall a 10+!

Thought of the Day...

When you wish upon a falling star, your dreams can come true. Unless it's really a meteorite hurtling to the Earth which will destroy all life. Then you're pretty much hosed no matter what you wish for. Unless it's death by meteor.

I heart broken KitKats...

So I love KitKats and Candy in general way too much! Especially when I am trying to shed a few unwanted friends in the weight department. Note to self...create a weight loss product that works and tastes like KitKats!....mmmmmm.....

I take everything too personally!

So it has been brought to my attention today that I take everything too personally. Really - someone told me, like I don't already know this about myself... Give me a break!

So is this a bad or a good thing? A compliment or a harsh criticism? I take it as both.

Today as a criticism. Argh!

a little bit o' green

I have started to go through my pictures of the lovely land of green and I decided to post a few pictures so that you can see too.

Ireland was an amazing time and it is definitely an adventure I will never forget! It was not too cold (warmer than SLC) and I saw at least 4 days of sun and only 2 of rain. Everywhere you went was worthy of some camera time (just ask my sister Joanna :) she took 3x the pictures that I did!) The Irish were great and for the most part you could understand what they were saying. Driving on the wrong side of the road at high speeds is the only part I hope to forget! GREAT TIMES!

Gordon B. Hinckley

Pres Gordon B. Hinckley passed away at his home about 7:00 Sunday evening with his family at his side. President Hinckley was 97 years old. He was the 15th president of the Church.

Church officials say President Hinckley worked hard up until a few days before his death. LDS Church Managing Director of Public Affairs Bruce Olsen said, "He'd wear most people out. He worked, and was in his office in the last few days before he passed away."

Olsen said President Hinckley had an endearing wit, and an incredible intellect. "He was one of the brightest men that I think has ever lived. He just new something about so many things."

Born in Salt Lake City on June 23, 1910; he graduated from the University of Utah and served a mission to Great Britain. After he returned, he embarked on a lifetime of service for the Church.

He was employed as the executive secretary of the Church Radio, Publicity, and Literature Committee before he was called to be an Apostle in 1961.

He was later called to serve as a counselor to President Spencer W. Kimball, President Ezra Taft Benson and President Howard W. Hunter.

Since becoming Church President on Mar. 12, 1995, he has directed the most intense temple building program in the history of the Church in an effort to extend temple blessings to more members.

He has exhibited vitality and energy as he has traveled about the world meeting and speaking to members of the Church.

Through television interviews and national press publications, he has increased media attention and improved the public image of the Church. He has counseled Church members to fellowship new converts, befriend members of other faiths, live exemplary lives, and avoid the evils of the world.

He began his role as president of the Church in 1995 by holding a rare news conference, citing growth and spreading the LDS message as the Church's main challenge heading into the 21st century. "We are dedicated ... to teaching the gospel of peace, to the promotion of civility and mutual respect among people everywhere, to bearing witness to the living reality of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the practice of his teachings in our daily lives," he said at the time.

President Hinckley was preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie Pay Hinckley, whom he married in 1937. She died April 6, 2004.
